Shower Stands For Tub Only

The Good North (Jonathan Entwistle, UK 2010)

As in a rural town in northern England, an Englishman of Pakistani origin, is beaten up, are particularly those residents under pressure, do not condone this act.
told in four chapters of this short film (budget: 240 pounds) fragmentary from the poisoned atmosphere that the National Front to establish itself in this small town (which is, of course, but as a proxy for many others). Excerpts of is because the scenes are only sketched, in which anti-fascist or liberal minded citizens are being pushed to the wall. The climate of aggression makes them gag, they are afraid to defend themselves or stand up. All this is completely mediated club without moral or concerned pathos, but with a directness and immediacy tells the viewers to decipher the scenes leaves mostly self. For there is no introduction, no summary given and granted, not imported any of the figures. Each segment formulates his story "of its own." That in the end a little, revealing point is was to be expected. It is the icing on the film, a film that is played well and was placed very neatly into the picture. THE GOOD NORTH tells one of the "small" stories of everyday life - which is terrible for the more. But Entwistle need only good 7 minutes. In October 2010 he was the 54th London Film Festival invited the British Film Institute. Pretty great.
